JFF Discover Kabuki Tour & Online brings together online streaming, Cinema Kabuki screenings, and hands-on workshops to introduce Kabuki to overseas audiences in a clear and approachable way.

Starting August 5, 2026, seven Kabuki titles will be streamed free of charge on JFF Theater, with subtitles in nine languages, in 119 countries worldwide across Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.

With the cooperation of Shochiku Co., Ltd., Cinema Kabuki screenings and works hops will also be held in seven countries — the Philippines, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Egypt — from October to November 2026.

The workshops include “Kumadori” Body-painting Experience inspired by Renjishi (The Father and Son Shishi Lions) and a Kabuki Costume Demonstration & Photo Experience connected to Ninin Fuji Musume (Two Wisteria Maidens) /Nihon Furisode Hajime (Japan’s Origin of the Torn Sleeve) .

JFF Discover Kabuki Online is available only in selected countries and regions. Viewers outside the streaming regions can also explore Kabuki performances through KABUKI ON DEMAND, Shochiku’s official Kabuki video streaming service. Please note that KABUKI ON DEMAND is a paid service.
